SINGLE-BAY OAK FRAMED GARAGE IN BROCKENHURST, NEW FOREST
This is the build log of our latest building. An oak framed garage with in Brockenhurst, Hampshire.
This timber frame is 3.2m wide x 6m deep with a roof pitch of 35°. We tiled the roof using Heritage hand-made clay tiles, equally important though, we provided several samples to make sure the oak garage looked great! The oak log-store at the back of the barn is a useful addition for bikes and barbecues if you don’t want to store oak offcuts!
We painted the traditional side-hung barn doors are with two coats of Sikkens WF761. We always prepare these in the workshop to protect them from the elements.

THE DETAILS
This traditional oak framed garage in Brockenhurst needed planning permission. The architect took a couple of attempts to get it passed but we were on hand at every stage to supply revised plans for the timber frame. While we typically handle planning applications free of charge, in this case, the architect was already engaged for other works on the property. We simply provided the drawings and allowed him to take care of the rest. At our company, we not only offer planning advice but can also submit the application on your behalf – all usually free of charge.
The design of this structure packs a real punch for its size. Timber garage doors, a pedestrian door, furthermore, oak fascia boards all around add an elegant touch. Additionally, we’ve added an elegant touch with an oak log store, which will serve as a convenient bike store for excursions into the New Forest.
