The oak frame is set on a pre-constructed brick plinth, which was completed in advance to define the footprint and overall form of the structure.
As with all our projects, the oak was cut to order rather than taken from stock, ensuring a fully bespoke build tailored to the exact specification.
The orangery is direct glazed using toughened double-glazed units, achieving a U-value of 1.0 for improved thermal performance. An air-dried oak capping system is used to securely sandwich the glazing within the frame, allowing for the natural movement of the oak over time while maintaining the integrity of the glass.
The result is a seamless and sympathetic extension to the property, with the oak frame carefully selected to complement and match the character of the existing building.
