DOUBLE OAK GARAGE WITH HALF-HIPPED ROOF
This is the build log of our latest building. A double oak garage in Shefford Woodlands.
The timber frame is 6.4m wide x 6.7m deep with a roof pitch of 30°. The roof it tiled using man-made slates which match the house. The oak fascia with exposed rafter tails add to the look, keeping with tradition and helping blend in beautifully.
The automatic sectional garage doors really stand out. As the building ages, the colours will tone down to silvery-grey and match the doors perfectly.

The build features an oak frame, softwood stud work / cladding / rafters. We fitted extra-wide (215mm) front posts so that the tracking system for any doors could be hidden behind.
Tile choice is very important. The client used his own tiler to fit Thrutone textured slates which matched the house. There are hundreds of options on roof covering, machine or hand-made clay tiles, slates from Spain or Wales, the list is endless!
