We have recently completed this oak balcony near Pewsey, Wiltshire.
The Oak balcony is made from European green (unseasoned) oak, with softwood floor joists and air-dried oak decking on top.
The Balcony is approx 3250mm x 2850mm with a height of 2.4m
We added a solid oak staircase with oak handrails and spindles which gave access to the garden from the balcony. A glass balustrade would have been an option but the client preferred the oak spindles.

The balcony is fitted against an existing garage with upper floor- the perfect spot for a morning coffee whilst looking out at the garden.
The original softwood balcony had rotted out and was unsafe to use. As we were replacing an existing structure, planning was not necessary. In general though, planning is required for any raised platform.
