THE DETAILS

The Hungerford site presented an unusual challenge: it was located across a ford over the River Dun, making deliveries tricky as most drivers were hesitant to cross the water. To solve this, we relied on a telehandler to safely transport materials across.

We managed the whole planning application process, which was straightforward.

Inside, the right-hand bay features a handcrafted internal staircase leading up to the mezzanine and will serve as a versatile workshop space. The loft room above has been designed as a storage area with Velux roof windows that flood the space with natural light. Its generous proportions make it ideal for future conversion into living accommodation or a self-contained annexe.

On the left, the garage is complete with traditional barn doors, while the entire build is clad in softwood and finished with classic clay tiles, giving the structure a timeless, warm aesthetic.
