Detached timber garage with room above
This is the build log of our latest building – a two-bay oak framed garage in Lymington, New Forest.
This barn is 7m wide x 6m deep with a roof pitch of 45° to provide a home office in the loft space. The building is clad with Scottish Spruce and the tiles will be Spanish slate.

the Details
The build features the oak frame, softwood stud work / cladding / rafters. We installed an upper floor over two bays, accessed via the solid oak external staircase.
We have oak collars through the roof space which adds a nice touch. The client chose to paint their doors to match the house so we gave them a coat of primer to protect them before painting.
The loft space will become a useful home office and is pretty big!
