OAK FRAMED VERANDA IN WILTSHIRE
This is the build log of our latest building. An oak framed veranda in Wiltshire.
This timber frame is 9m wide x 2m deep with a roof pitch of 22.5°. We tiled the roof using double-Roman tiles, equally important though, we added our timber cladding to the back of the house to make sure it looked great! The oak rafters add to the look, keeping with tradition and helping blend in beautifully.
We covered the rafters with a white-painted board which not only hides the felt but also helps make the rafters pop!

This oak framed veranda in Wiltshire needed planning permission. We worked closely with the client to produce the final design and then submitted the plans. The only cost to the client was the local authority fee.
The veranda adds a nice touch to the house – what you can’t see is the oak porch and oak-framed carport which all add to the beauty of the property. This was a bespoke project with lots of interesting touches. The oak roof looks fabulous and the white boarding makes it stand out.
